Using the latest version 2.1.3 (updated today).

I am trying to re-order categories and it is simply not working. Clicking up/down doesn’t actually do anything.

Also, I am trying to re-order the fields in the publish layout and after drag/drop & save, the order always resets.

What can I do to fix these?
    Thanks!
    Eric

Great, looks like that issue was already reported.

What about the problem with re-ordering fields in the publish layout, is this related to the category bug somehow?

    Thanks,
    Eric

Hi, Eric. I can’t replicate the problem you’re having with re-ordering fields, could you be more specific? What kinds of fields are you trying to re-order?

    Hi Sue,
I have a Channel that contains 4 fields on the main page. Title, Categories, and 2 custom fields. I am able to drag the Categories field to the bottom and “Save Layout”, but when I reload the publish page for this Channel, the Categories field is pushed back to the 2nd item in the list instead of the bottom where I saved it.

To me, it looks like it forces Custom fields below default fields, while it lets you mix these up in layout edit mode.

    Thanks!
    Eric

    Eric,

I can’t replicate that issue with the Publish page. Can you try removing that layout and starting a custom layout afresh?

I removed the layout, restructured it and got the same result.

    Try this simple test…
    1. Add a custom field to the publish tab
    2. Move it above the “title” field and save layout
    3. Refresh the page

The custom field in my test is sent back below the title field even though I saved it above the title field

    Thanks!

    ericingram,

This is also indeed a confirmed bug we’re actively working on. Thanks for your patience.
