    Hi,

I’m about to start developing an EE website running on a .ie domain on an Irish web server. A duplicate ‘carbon-copy’ of the same site must also run on a .co.uk domain on a British server.

Has anybody attempted running two copies of an EE site over two servers?

The content on both sites would be the same, the Irish site being the ‘master’. Would it just be a simple matter of installing both, and configuring the UK site to use the Irish DB?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, Michael,

You are aware you’d need two full licenses for this set up?

This may not answer your question, but I’m curious why you need a carbon copy on another server. Is there a concern on data transfer from the Irish web server to the British users?

Hi - I understand that two licenses are required.

The client wants a copy on a uk domain + server for SEO reasons.

The SEO gains are minimal compared to the cost of making this work. I would suggest you push back to the client with alternative recommendations.
