I have created a Member Group with the following Control Panel Access Settings: http://d.pr/bCEr

The settings are identical for all sites (making an Editor only group).  However, when I login as a user assigned to this group, I can access and change everything in the Control Panel.  Am I missing something?

    Using v2.1.0 Build 20101020

You are definitely logged in as a member of the low privilege group, not as a Superadmin or similar?

    Hey Ingmar,

Forgot i posted this lol.  I got it “fixed.”  The Control Panel Session Type was set to Cookie and Session ID, which (because of it’s incompatibility with Chrome), said I was logged in as the Editor user but the system thought I was logged in as admin.  It is very odd.  Ended up setting everything to just Cookie and it works fine.

To be honest, that entire setting “Control Panel Session Type” is completely useless and causes more problems than it is worth.  Someone said they opened a bug on it, but it seriously just needs removed, or at least the default changed.  By default it doesn’t work correctly in IE or Chrome, you have to go in and switch it to Cookies Only to get it to work right.  If you could pass that along to the others, that would be great.

For now, you can go ahead and close this thread.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Hi, Dan. I’ll be happy to mention this to the dev team. I’d also like Cookies Only to be the default. 😊

Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
