Is there anyway to increase the maximum characters for the title fields so it is greater than 100?
We are using 1.6.9 Build: 20100430

I am afraid there is no supported way to do this. The general suggestion is to use a custom field for this. Otherwise you’d have to hack EE (more specifically cp.publish.php, I think).
