I have noticed that there were no topics on Wikileaks in The Lounge. I posted this not to conjure any heated debate on politics and freedom of speech, as I’ve seen other forums become out of hand when it comes to belief and politics.

I’m perched up on a mountain top (aka fence sitter) overlooking the valley and seeing everything that is being revealed.

With all the hacking going on, is this a bad topic to bring up and why everyone considers this voodoo? Oh crap… I’m making myself known right now. Please Low Orbiting Ion Cannon, don’t do it.

I am more interested in the technological aspects more than anything. So far we’ve seen corporations with mighty robust servers and technology withstanding attacks like Amazon and PayPal. Credit card companies like Mastercard - not so good.

Lately I’ve been reading from news sources daily, which I never do. I forsee the overall history of this will be made into a movie. Will it overcome David Fincher’s “The Social Network”? I laugh, and with all jokes aside I have a feeling the motion picture business is writing a script as we speak.

An interesting aspect of modern civilization is this thing we call “agreement”.

We speed down the road at deadly speeds - by the thousands - a few inches from each other….all because we agree we want to preserve ourselves and our sheet metal.

We have 100 million guns and billions of bullets, yet the use of them on each other (civilian) is rare statistically.

Just about anyone could wreck havoc if they wanted to…in one way or another. Yet we don’t.

This relates to security in the modern age. As they say, locks are for honest people! If We the People do not agree with something in the long run, there is no way that corporate or even government security will keep it safe.

Complicated subjects….but, again, security depends somewhat on the fact that millions don’t have you in their sights. When they do, all bets are off. Just ask the Iranian Nuclear Engineers.
