    Hi,

One of our blogger want to email the content to his blog using Mobilog. And since i’ve been using this system on 1.6.8 in the past, I thought it was straight forward.

I’m using gMail where I post to and I understand its working as long as I enable pop and using https://pop.gmail.com as server
I believe I got it all right, but still give me ever tiring message ‘Unable to connect to email server’ when I click on ‘Check Moblog’

I’ve attached a screenshot if you can detect any issues with the setup (i’ve removed the password just for this image). One thing I have discovered is that ‘Default Field’ have no drop down for field - seems to be important. Can that be the reason? If so, why is not the only field name ‘blog-body” on that channel not displaying in the drop down box?

Been knocking my head in to this problem without any result the last few days. Any help would be good, Thanks!

    Cheers,
    Robert

Using the latest EE 2.1.1 (Build: 20101020) and Moblog (3.0)

Is your blog-body set to textarea, or what exactly?

We are using p&t wigwam I think it’s called. Sometimes a blogger type it directly from the backend and like to use editor. If that doesnt work , I can change that

I just did setup a new test channel with custom field that is textarea without success. Same issue with connecting to server.
You might ask you, is the username and password correct. I just used all of that to setup an account on my computer, by copy and paste all the info I put in to the field in moblog preferences.

I signed up with GMX free mail service as well, as I know does not need SSL for their pop3 (pop.gmx.com) server. Did set it up on my Mail email application and it works fine. Doing it on the moblog, and it just get the same message. :-(

Have you seen this in the docs?

    Incoming Mail Server

The email server on which the email account you specified resides. This is the server to which ExpressionEngine will attempt to connect. This is typically something like mail.example.com. If you are using POP3 over SSL, you must prefix the server address with ssl://, e.g. ssl://pop.gmail.com.

Hi, fixed that server address to
    ssl://pop.gmail.com

still receiving the same error message.

Attached is the setup. If you want to login to our system check it out yourself, let me know, and I will send you the details

    Hi Kreativ,

I’m afraid that I can’t replicate this error message using similar settings to you. Is it possible that your server firewall is blocking outgoing connections on port 995?

    Cheers

    Greg
