hm. i consider divs that flash their content then hide as a fouc problem (oh yeah not that i, personally, have ever had a problem with that 😉...)

i tried cookies only, it didn’t help. well, it’s not a fatal problem to function of the ee2 cp just a small visual hiccup. i don’t want to take over the support forums over this! 😊

eta: just to clarify, what i see is the preferences, etc. OPEN then they flash closed. are they supposed to do that?

When I click on Preferences, it stays open even after I open other items below it. Are you using any sort of third party control panel theme?

no, i don’t. like i said, this was a vanilla install on EH with no 3rd party anything installed. i notice it says version 2.1.0 build 20101020 but in my ee downloads it appears to be 2.1.1 build 20101020 - hhhmmm. am i running an older version of the same build date?!

    Current Version: 2.1.1 - Build: 20101020

    littlered,

i notice it says version 2.1.0 build 20101020

Is that in your EE Info accessory?
Your actual version and build appears in the small footer text below that. Is that the current version and build?

Was this a fresh install or an update from a previous version or build?

You say you can see this on other installs also?

Are you running any anti-virus software or anything like that?

Is this site local or professionally hosted?

hi, this site is on EH, so it is professionally hosted. it was purchased on oct 1, so the original ee2 install was whatever version was hanging around then. so, yes, i must have updated to the latest build before i started working (sorry i work on a lot of sites i lose track of what started with what version). something, however, is clearly wrong as yes, that v. 2.1.0 build 20101020 shows up in the small footer text in the CP.

i have another ee2 site i set up this fall that i also updated to v. 2.1.1 build 20101020 (on EH) that shows the correct version #. however, i see the same open div flash (and then collapse) when i click to open a template on that site, as well.

now i’m concerned about the version # being wrong - perhaps i will try to re-update with v. 2.1.1 build 20101020. but based on my experience with my other site, i’m doubtful that it will fix the fouc ... 😊

It looks like you performed a build update when you should have done a version update

Can you recall if you ran the upgrade wizard in your browser?
