Can you describe your problem in a little more detail? What version and build of EE are you using?

Any extensions? What theme are you using? You might also want to replace your files with a fresh set, paying particular attention to CP and other theme files.

I am also having this problem when trying to upload files.  Particularly .jpeg files.  The first time I try and upload a .jpeg file it says “the File Type you are trying to upload is not allowed.”  Subsequent times after that it says “You did not select a file to upload.”  For .png files sometimes they upload and other times they say “You did not select a file to upload”.

    I’m running Freelancer v2.1.1
Extensions - Structure, Matrix, Morphine Theme.

I just replaced my mimes.php file with the lastest version from the 2.1.2 download.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi Houdini,

This is a previously reported bug. Please follow that report for updates.

    @bryantAXS,

Is there anything common about these .jpeg files that are not working? They should be exactly the same as .jpg files. Were they created by a particular program or did they come from a specific source?

    Cheers

    Greg

I just had this one happen to me last night. Glad to hear it’s been reported already.

@Greg - Nothing common, I got them all from different reliable sources.  PNG files seem to usually work and jpegs are the ones that fail.  I have tested on my local machine and also on a Media Temple server I own and it is happening on both.

I’m using EE 2.1.2 (Build:  20101215)  I just had this happen with GIF files as well. When I refresh the publish form and upload again it works; but it’s a pain to have to do this every time you upload an image.

    bryantAXS,

Can I get you to update to the most recent version ( 2.1.3 ) of EE please?

    mycloc,
The same issue as Houdini or bryantAXS?

I got it working—turned out I had a typo in my image path; my bad!

    bryantAXS,

Can I get you to update to the most recent version ( 2.1.3 ) of EE please?

Unfortunately same result.  First time I try and upload a jpeg “The file type you are attempting to upload is not allowed”, second time “You did not select a file to upload”

The EE installation is basically fresh as well.  No channels, no installed add-ons, no templates or customizations.

I am afraid this bug might not have been fixed yet. Thanks for your patience, we’re working on it.

I am kicking this thread up as there’s still no fix around and it’s been almost 5 months. A bit disappointed really. I can’t tell my customers to refresh each time they upload an extra image.
