Ok, here I go again, with a complete new thread.

I managed (after initial installation problems ... see my other post on my recommendation on how to best install on a live server) to install EE on a live server (within password protected directory since this setup is only used for learning and testing)

I also installed the “Agyle” sample template
    then I installed MSM
then I installed the Forum (important here again, upload all folders in “BINARY” mode otherwise you may get some missing bytes warnings)

Now I need really help because I try to do everything right from the beginning and before I even can start, I am confused already. Following the “forum-setup-documentation” for a “first time” setup I can’t even start because things are no in place as the documentation requests!

kindly see the attachment “1.time_forum_setup.png”] - it clearly tells you what to do first! The only thing is ... I can’t find anything that I should find, according to the documentation. All I have is what you can see in the second screenshot “EditForumBoards.png” ... where is the Forum Management tab? Where is the “General Preference” link (for the forum preferences)? Am I that blind? Or do I have the wrong documentation (that’s the one recommended to me for download after I purchased EE 2.1.1

    Thanks

Hi, Renegades. It can be a bit confusing setting up forums for the first time. You have to add a new forum board first. Then you’ll see additional settings.

    Hello Sue, Thanks.
No - not confusing, “Frustrating” - to find an outdated, incomplete and misleading “documentation” for a “premium” product. There are many other spots in this documentation (for the EE 2.1.1) that don’t add up. Is EllisLab in financial crisis that they can’t afford a corrected documentation or do they simply not care?

Mind you, if we’d offer that service to our clients we could close the doors!

    No happy face!

    Hi, Renegades -

I am sorry that this has not worked out for you.  As we have followed up in via sales, I am going to close this thread.

Thank you again for your feedback.
