Activation email not being sent

    This has popped up on a few other threads but I still can’t get it to work. The situation:

    I had our membership activation set to “Manual activation by administrator”. Everything was fine. The admin got the email and activated the account.
    I switched this to “Self-activation by email”. I tested this and all seemed to be well. The appropriate pages (email has been sent, thanks for confirming) appeared when expected.

    The problem is that this only worked once or twice. After that, when the user registered they were automatically bounced to the home page. The user never received the email and the user never appeared as pending.

    If I switch to “No activation required”, the registered member shows up as expected. But I’d prefer the email activation.

    The details:

    EE 1.6.9.
    Solspace User module 3.0.1
    Can send emails from the Communicate panel.

    Any help would be great.

    Hi porthos,

    Can you give us a bit more information about this? Is this only one member we are talking about or very many different members? Is this when using a User registration form or the default EE one?

    This was apparently related to http:// addresses vs. http://www. addresses. The www made all the difference. Using the non-www address yielded the error. I’ve adjusted the htaccess file to force www (which is good SEO to boot).
