I receive the following error when trying to delete a member.  Didn’t notice this until the most recent build.  The delete appears to be successful—the deleted member is purged from the database.  I noticed similar posts regarding deleting entries, but that I don’t receive any errors there…

    A Database Error Occurred
    Error Number: 1054

Unknown column 'channel_id' in 'field list'

    SELECT DISTINCT(entry_id), channel_id FROM exp_comments WHERE author_id = '1427'

    Filename: controllers/cp/members.php

    Line Number: 1057

    Version: 2.1.1
    Build:  20101020

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Whoops… Just saw this…

    https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/10678/

Was this resolved in 2.1.1 or not yet?

    columbusphil,

That bug report was for a different error and has since been resolved.

Can you go through the process you went to delete a member?
What add-ons do you have installed?

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from a previous version or build?

    John,

    This is an upgrade from 1.6.9—> 2.1—> 2.1.1 .

To delete a member, I’m simply going to Members—> “View All”  Check the member I’d like to delete and click “Delete Selected Members.”  I’m prompted by:
“Are you sure you want to delete these members?”  It is after I click"Delete” that is when the error occurs.  (The reason I suspected the bug is that we do not, nor have ever used the comment module).

    Extensions: MXCloner
    Plugins:
    AJW Export   0.9
    Character Limiter   1.1
    Cookie   2.0
    ImageSizer   2.6.4
    Magpie RSS Parser   1.3.5
    Randomizer   1.1
    Word Limiter   1.1
    XML Encode

Should I try re-running the installer as I saw on another post?

Do you have the comment module installed at all?

No - not installed. Should I just try installing it and not use it?

Feel free to close this one out.

I installed the comment module and still had the problem (received a database error that the table already existed - so maybe I was wrong, maybe someone did install it at some point).

However, once I uninstalled it,  everything worked as it should.  I’m no longer receiving an error when I delete members.  My guess is the uninstall got rid of the offending table….

Thanks for the insight Ingmar and John,

    - Phil

That makes sense. I’m glad you were able to solve this. Post again as needed, please.
