forum 2.2.0 set default language to be arabic-uft8

    hi,


    how to set the defualt language for the forum to be arabic-utf8 instead of Engilsh,....with the ability to switch to english from the localization settings for each memebr….

    i nead the defualt language for the forum to be Arabic-utf8….for all members

    You’d just need to use utf-8 instead of some other encoding; the language shouldn’t matter. You might have to modify the forum theme files for that. May I suggest to use EE2 and Forums 3? Things have gotten easier in that regard, utf-8 is used by default now.

    how to modify the theme files?which files?
    i do not want to start using ee2 at least right now…i had made the whole website using ee 1.9 and i am running out of time….the only thing left is the Arabic forum….

    Start with theme_global.php for the theme you’re wanting to modify. It’s towards the beginning of the file.

    i had now installed both ee2 and forum 3…

    from to change the language of the forum to be arabic?

    It would be the same method. Start with the files inside /themes/forum_themes/default/forum_index
