Hi,
I need to add a url along the lines of http://www.mysite.com/{channel_id} on the post publish section of the CP. Its a preview link of the specific post he is populating. Once user updates his post I want him able to click the preview link so it pops the page in a new tab (target -blank is fine)Any idea of a custom weblog field I could add that holds the above url and is the syntax correct eg http://www.mysite.com/{channel_id} = http://www.mysite.com/16

Am I understanding your correctly in that you want to modify the control panel as such, not a regular EE template? In that case you’d have to use an extension.

Yes is there such an extension that allows u to add an uneditable url

Your best bet is to look over on Devot-ee.com for such an extension. Does that help?
