Is it safe to continue running v2.0.2pb01? 2.1 upgrade sounds like a hassle.

I have a couple of sites running perfectly on v2.0.2pb01 with several third-party plugins in use.

Installing 2.1 is extra work, and at least has some potential to break compatibility with plugins, etc. Can I safely continue running the beta? Is there any known security risks or other downsides?

It seems like the upgrade process should be a lot easier (nothing more than a couple of clicks, or similar). The current upgrade process is essentially “re-install EE and get everything working again”.  Disappointing, to say the least. Will this change in the future?

Thanks for any input or advice.

We do not recommend to run the beta version in production environments. If you need support with technical issues you’d probably be asked to upgrade. I’d suggest you do that, at your own speed, perhaps using a staging or testing setup of some sort? Be sure to make (and verify) backups, too.

EE 2.1.1 was also a security release so you definitely should upgrade.
