    Hi

We are building a new website in ExpressionEngine 1.6.8 - Build:  20091201 and seem to be missing the formatting toolbar on our publish pages.

    where did we go wrong?

    Thanks
    Janine

This can be controlled in the weblog custom field settings page for a given field (Admin ->  Weblog Administration ->  Field Groups ->  Custom Fields).

Is the radio button for “Default Text Formatting for This Field” set to “Hide Formatting Menu”?

    Hi Tom,

We do not have the option of “WEblog Administration”

    System Administration
    Content type Administration
    Members and Groups
    Specialty Templates
    System Preferences
    Utilities

    Thanks!

Sounds to me like you looking for “Content type Administration”  Do you have a “Field Groups” option in there?

    I have found custom fields

Admin ›  Content type Administration ›  Field Groups ›  Custom Fields

but these fields are not for the ‘content’ part that’s missing the toolbar

    e.g. attached

    Pride Toronto,

you need to head to edit your Weblog Preferences and edit your Publish Page Customization  to Display Formatting Buttons. See attached.

CP Home ›  Admin ›  Weblog Administration ›  Weblog Management ›  Edit Weblog Preferences

I believe ‘Weblog’ might have been renamed ‘Content’ in your set-up

    Does that help?

    Hi Janine,

Did you get this figured out? Can I close this thread?

    Cheers

    Greg
