I am doing a very routine upload of a small pdf file to one of two upload directories and get the following error:

A problem was encountered while attempting to upload your file

I checked the path to the directory and it is correct. I checked the permissions and they appear to be in order as well.

I also confirmed that all file types are allowed.

Is there something else I am missing?

    Thanks.

    Forrest,

What version and build of EE are you using?

Are you a SuperAdmin when uploading the PDF?

If you goto Security and Session Preferences  and turn off Apply XSS Filtering to uploaded files? does it work?

CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Security and Session Preferences

Are you uploading via the native upload function or an extension or field-type of some sorts?
