    Hey there,

    Using EE v2.1.1

I’m trying to setup registration on my site. I’m getting this error when clicking on the Activation link that is sent in the email after registering.

    An Error Was Encountered
The URI you submitted has disallowed characters.

    Here is the email:

Thank you for your new member registration.
To activate your new account, please visit the following URL:

    Thank You!

I’m using Solspaces’ User module with the following Registration form:
    http://www.503websolutions.net/vendors/vendor_signup

Any ideas what would be causing this?

Wild guess here. I seem to remember a few weeks back having an issue with EE2 tripping up over the “&” in some URI and having to actually change it to “

    &

” before EE2 would process the URL. I don’t remember what part of EE2 it was though, but I would start by using the process of elimination to see if the “&” is the part EE is not liking.

I have no clue what the full solution is, just wanted to see if I could help get you looking in the right direction.

Once you find which part of that URI EE2 doesn’t like, then the support folks will be able to replicate it and help you resolve it.

Where would you change that in the CP since this email is generated from EE.
I tried to manually change the & character, and got an invalid GET request error.

This is weird. It seems to be happening with my forum module as well. When there is params in the URL.

Are there setting somewhere that prevent this?

    Hi Jason,

For specific assistance with User module please contact Solspace directly. However, for the issue with your forum do you have an .htaccess file active for your site? If so, can you please temporarily disable it and then replace index.php as your site index file at Admin > General Configuration and then test this again.

    Cheers

    Greg

    @Kurt, thanks for the assist.
