As I plan to update from 1.6.0 to 1.7.0, I wanted to backup my database.

As the PHPMyAdmin interface area is a bit daunting for me (I’m not sure what areas to back up), I felt backing up my database to my
desktop from my EE control panel would be an easier route.

However, when I tried, I got a message that decompression failed. I did check the mac Gzip button.

    Help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eden

Hi, Eden. The backup utility in EE1.x was discontinued, you’ll need to use PHPMyAdmin or something similar to do this. You may just need to google for PHPMyAdmin tutorial to get more info on how to use that particular tool.
