I’m looking at Expression Engine to create a website for a display case manufacturer. They will have 100 or so products, each will need to be able to display the technical specs for each case, and include links to downloadable price lists, brochures, spec sheets and CAD files on each product detail page.

Is EE a good fit for this type of project?

The product tree would be as follows:

The site would not need any eCommerce funtionality, but would need to be able to flexibility in product specifications.

    Thanks.

Hi, Concentre - welcome to the forums!

You can use EE to build a site for this. You can upload files and include the links in the entry.  Something like Matrix would likely help you quite a lot with this type of site.

Other than that, each product would be an entry in a channel, and custom fields would be used to describe the products.  Something EE can handle, no problem.

Please post back if you have any other questions.

I have looked everywhere for a demo. I’d like to navigate around the CMS before recommending to my client. I thought I saw something about a $10 hosted trial somewhere, but cannot find it. Can you tell me if there is a way to try the CMS before purchasing?

    Thank you.

I am afraid there is no longer a demo available. We do, however, offer a 100% money back guarantee giving you a risk free way to try out EE.
