After updating from EE 1.6.x to 1.7.0, the updater told me:

“Please be sure to read the Version Notes for important information about this version.”

But the notes aren’t about “this version.”

    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/update.html#notes

“This page describes the process for updating from a previous version of ExpressionEngine 2 to the latest version of ExpressionEngine 2.”

Whoops! I didn’t want to update from EE2 to EE2. Did I just wreck my site?

    It also said:

“Important: If you are updating from ExpressionEngine 1.x use the docs on Updating from 1.x to ExpressionEngine 2.x.”

But I’m not doing that either. I’m updating from 1.x to a newer version of 1.x. Shouldn’t the updater show me Version Notes about that?

Hi, g)tO35. Thanks for reporting this. I’ve added a bug report on your behalf.

The real URL should be: http://expressionengine.com/legacy_docs/installation/update.html#notes

However, there are no Notes for this particular build.

Thank you Sue. I’m not complaining, just hoping to keep you at the top of your game. You know, updating and upgrading can be an anxiety inducing procedure, copying all those files into a beloved website. I want to be greeted by a happy unicorn upon completion.

I don’t know if we can do happy unicorns, but we appreciate you pointing out bugs to help improve the product. 😊 Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
