    Hi,

I’m getting the following error on one of my sites:
“Database Error: Unable to connect to your database. Your database appears to be turned off or the database connection settings in your config file are not correct. Please contact your hosting provider if the problem persists.”

I thought this was because I’d deleted lots of files on another site (the place I originally set the site up, before I moved it to its current location). However, all those files have now been restored and the problem still exists.

I can’t get into the site itself or the control panel.  But phpMyAdmin shows me the database still exists and is up-to-date.  All settings in config.php appear to be correct too.

Sorry to bump this up but the entire site is down at the moment and if anyone could suggest something I could try I’d be grateful.

    Thank you.

This looks like an issue with your database. Once you have verified that your config.php file contains the db name, host, user name and password, and that all such info is correct, you should probably contact your db server administrator.
