    Hi

I’m looking to install an EE2.x site, but I need to run it on a subdomain as there are all sorts of other things going on on the root of the server I have to install to.

I will put my EE2.x files in a folder like this /public_html/mySubdomain/

and I will access the site from a URL like this: http://mysubdomain.somedomain.com

Is EE2.x going to work like this? I can’t find anything in the docs to suggest that it won’t, but I don’t want to pay for the license if there are problems with running EE on a subdomain.

NB - I do NOT need to run multiple EE sites, and I can’t install files to the root of this web server as there is another site already running there - so EE MSM is not an option for this build.

Please let me know if this sounds like it will be problematic.

    Thanks,

    Charlie

Yes, you can install EE in a subdomain, no problem. You’ll then need to configure your server to show http://example.com/foobar/ when http://foobar.example.com is called. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue, all in all.
