Hello,
I switch to another server and the phenomena still occurs , so I checked the old site (that was O.K. when I built it) and I found out that it doesn’t works either.
I checked again with the support, they told me that they block any of the following functions:
system, show_source, dl, shell_exec, shell, system_exec, proc_open, popen, virtual, passthru, exec.
is the EE being affected by any of those functions?
please advice.

Did you just switch servers or a different host?

Try temporarily disabling mod_rewrite to verify if this is the issue

I switch the server on the same host. (u know money issue).
We disabled every things with no changes.
The PHP ver. is 5.2.13, a newer version then the version on “the good server” (that is on another host).
is that can explain it?

Is this server still running Suhosin? There are a large variety of configuration options with Suhosin, many of which can interfere with scripts. If you can, have them temporarily disable it so that you can test without it.

This server has no Suhosin
Because they don’t have access to the other host they can’t say what the differences between servers.
I can send you the username and password so you can see it your self.

It’s a definite possibility. Can they unblock that, too? Even without suhosin, are you still getting the same error message?

That what they did,
They disabled all of those functions then I checked again but it doesn’t help…

Hi studiosmadar,

Thank you for getting the host to disable Suhosin so we can now rule that out. Can you please contact your host again and ask whether mod_security is installed on your server? If it is please ask them to disable it or show them the error message and ask them to add an exception for it.

After disable mod_security all the functions of EE came back to normal 😊

But they told me they can’t leave it like this and ask if I can find what part of this mode make troubles, and sent me the attach letter.

Is it possible that you take a look on that?

I have pinged the devs to see if this is a simple answer or more involved. Either way we will get back to you in this thread. Thanks for your patience.

The responsibility would lie with your host to watch your logs and tweak mod_security where necessary. There is nothing specific about what may be triggering it. The actual error itself may hold a clue also.

Sorry we can’t be of more help on this one but the general nature of mod_security and it’s uniqueness to each host is something that we cannot support.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
