    OK here’s a funny one for you…

In the admin panel, under Members and Groups is a User Banning menu.

It has banned IP addresses, usernames, email addresses and so on.

We found out that one of the IP addresses we’ve banned needs to be unbanned. Simple, right? We erase it from the list and hit update.

The problem is, it comes right back.  The other options, banned usernames, banned email addresses… if we remove them they stay removed, but not IP addresses.

I dug into the source and it looks like banned is stored in exp_sites. I did a dump of this table and the IP address I removed is indeed gone from the table (the others are still there).

And yet the form insists the IP is still banned (and the people with that IP address tell us they still can’t access our site). I used the Clear Cached Data to make sure the IPs weren’t cached somewhere, but no help.

Does anyone have any idea where this info might be hidden so I can go nuke it by hand, if needed?

This is kind of a public relations nightmare..it’s an advertiser who can’t access our site!

    We’re running EE 1.6.8, Build 20091002

Yes I know we should upgrade but fixing this really can’t wait!!

Glad you were able to figure out what the problem was. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
