Hi, I’ve used EE for a few sites but I wouldn’t say I was an expert by any means. I’m just about to embark on a developing a vacation rental website where individual home owners can create an account and have admin functionality where they can post their home and manage info and images for that home and ideally view some stats like number of views, number of contacts etc.
Right now I don’t know whether I should stick with the current tools available through EE, ie create a user group called home_owner and lock them down to their own entries and use available addons to cover the required functionality. Alternatively would creating a custom module be the better approach although I have no experience with this.
These are some general requirements :
Home owner log in
Home owner can manage their account plus subscription info
Subscription tool to track and charge yearly fee
Dashboard showing home owner any properties they have listed
CRUD functionality for properties
Booking / Availability calendar where home owner can block out booked dates
Image tool where home owner can upload and manage home shots
Google Map tool where user’s can add house location
Any advice would be appreciated.
