My EE site is hosted by 1and1.co.uk which still uses php4. I want to use solspace’s Calendar program, so I upgraded to php5 via an .htaccess script (as per 1and1’s instructions). The .htaccess file is placed in the same directory as my index.php and contains the following:

    AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

Everything seemed fine initially, as uploading the Solspace file didn’t cause php errors, and my home page looked great. Then I realised that none of my sub pages are loading. The url’s look fine when I hover over the link, but it returns only my home page.

I was about to give up and forget using the solspace calendar, but when I removed the .htaccess file from the server, I just got blank pages - not even my control panel. So now I’m stuck and don’t know how to go forward OR backwards. I’d prefer to go forward, of course.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

I’m running EE1.6.9 which was purchased and installed this week.

Please help! The site is due to launch in a few days!

I fixed it!!! Under Admin > system prefs > output and debugging prefs I chose to “Force URL query strings”

    *whew* !
