Using category_image along with entries

Have a basic query using
```
{exp:weblog:entries weblog="products" status="Featured Item" limit="6"}
{category_image}
{title}
{/exp:weblog:entries}
```
I was hoping that the category image would work like this, but it doesn’t. I wanted the appropriate category image to be displayed with each item.

Is there a workaround?

Just use
```
{categories}{category_image}{/categories}
```
