I’m using the Pages module on a current EE 2 site build and I’d like to be able to hide the pages from the Edit menu. Prior to EE2, I used the Edit Menu add-on. Is there a way to either hide the pages or create a hover menu for the edit menu in EE2?

dgraydesign, do you mean you want to hide the Pages tab based on usergroup?

No, I don’t want to do anything with the Pages tab. I want to hide the Pages (being managed under the Pages tab) from the Content > Edit menu. There was a plugin to do this in 1.6.8. I only have one channel that I want the client to use the Edit menu for, the rest of the site will be managed through the Pages tab. It’s confusing to the client to have these show up in both places, and in the Edit menu they appear without the structure that the Pages tab has. Does that make sense?

    Thanks

    dgraydesign,

Take a look at Channel Assignment under the preferences for the member group your client is in. You can limit access to only one channel if you wish. This will be reflected in your Edit screen.

    Does this help?

But then it wouldn’t be available in the Pages menu, would it? The point is to have the site pages appear only in the Pages menu, not the Edit menu.

Unfortunately, I don’t think that what you want is currently possible.  If you want the member to have access to edit those entries, then they’ll show up in both Edit and in the Pages module.

Would make a great feature request, though!

Thanks - I’ll add it to the feature requests topic. Maybe the person who developed the add-on that did this in version 1.6.8 will update it for version 2.

Glad to see we got this explained. Please post again as needed.
