    Hi there,

    I’ve been asked to fix an EE1 site another development company botched, and I could use a little help. The site works fine on this other company’s server, but after they migrated it to my client’s server, things went a little wonky. So I tried starting over and migrating it myself using files they provided.

    I uploaded all the site files to the new server, imported the database, changed config.php, and set the file permissions according to the EE installation instructions.

    When I go to the site URL, I get a totally blank page. When I navigate to the log-in area, it appears without any styling (screenshot attached) and it doesn’t recognize the SuperAdmin username.

    What suggestions do you have for things I can look into to fix the problem?

    Thanks!

    Did you remember to upload your /themes folder?

    Yes, the themes folder has been uploaded.

    That wouldn’t account for the username error though would it?

    I’m thinking it might be a database problem but I’m not sure where or what to check.

    Hi Unifusion,

    Please make sure and clear the cache files completely (apart from any .htaccess or index.html files). Temporarily disable any .htaccess file that might being used to remove index.php from the URL. Override any cookie preferences in the config file:

    $conf['cookie_domain'] = '';
    $conf['cookie_path'] = '';

    The Wiki contains a complete list of config overrides in case you need to manage other preferences.

    Cheers

    Greg

    Nope. No change at all.

    I don’t really know what to do with those config overrides, since I don’t know what’s wrong with the site…

    Are you certain the database was transferred correctly? Have you looked using something like PHPMyAdmin to see if the exp_members table is correct?
