I’m a bit confused regarding the MSM setup in my install now that I’m having to go back and look into the number of sites I have available.

I ordered an MSM license with “3 sites available” months ago now (which if I’m reading correctly this means your primary install + 3 additional sites). We currently have 3 sites total - the initial site and 2 additional sites. There should be one more available, right?

I’m not seeing the “Create New Site” button when I chose Sites > Edit Sites any longer. My enable MSM is ‘on’ and my config file shows ‘y’ for this, too. It seems I’m confused as to what “3 available sites” means in relation to the documentation, or somethings a little fishy.

Additionally, is it possible to “add sites” to a pre-existing install if you wanted to add, say, 3 more? Or do you have to re-purchase a full setup again? It seems confusing in my downloads area.

Update: It does appear that I have site_id 1, 3, and 4 so I’m assuming an MSM site was deleted and perhaps EE thinks there are 4 sites in total there?

It’s usually best to email sales about private license lookups.  I have done this for you - it appears you purchased a straight MSM, no additional sites.  EE + MSM = 3 Sites total.  That you’re missing site_id 2 just means that a site was created and removed at some point.

You’ll need to purchase an additional site to open up the “Create New Site” ability.

Lisa - Thanks for the clarification. You’re saying the “straight MSM” is different than the “additional site + msm sites” from the link you just sent? Is there not an easy way to add single sites to an existing MSM license?

When I choose that link (and am logged in) I see “You’ll see the option to add Additional Sites to your Multiple Site Manager License.”—But I only see the option to buy a totally new license, then add 1, 3, 10+ sites to that fee.

What you should see is the option to add additional sites to your already existing MSM license. Can you please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Please reference this thread when doing so.
