Just realized I have 300 "Members", but I don't have any registration forms on my site.

My site doesn’t require “members” to register and doesn’t even have a registration form. I do have a Freeform contact form, but I don’t think that’s the problem. How are people(mostly spammers I suppose) registering to become members?

    hey Mike!

    check this link

    http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/166496/

    if you go yoursite.com/index.php/member/register

you can see how if you haven’t changed the name of your member directory, a backlink bot can find that you use ee and go to that url and register, then leave comment spam or whatever.

i set my settings so that i had to approve any member

    hope that helps
