    Hey guys,

Here is an issue I have had with every expression engine site I have worked on:

For my workflow, I am designing a site that is already live, which means, I can’t use the domain as my development domain in media temple.

This screws up my setting in expression engine, because the paths I put into ee just don’t work because my “preview site” is some long URL with a https, etc…

Any tips for setting up development environments for ee on servers like media temple? I have run into this issue before where ee is installed but the admin login screen just keeps showing up, even when i use the correct credentials.

    Thanks!

HI there. When having to change locations after you’ve installed EE you can use the Deeploy Helper module, or edit your config file to automatically grab URLs and paths instead of having those hard coded paths in your config file after you’ve installed, explained here: http://eeinsider.com/articles/multi-server-setup-for-ee-2/

This is a question that has been talked about a lot, so you can search the forums a bit.
