On my products page, I need the visitors to be able to sort products by brand.
The products are from different weblogs.
I created a new category group, in which each category represents a brand.
Or, would it be better to create a custom field?
Also, I have no idea about how to use dynamic parameters. Please help!

Have you taken a look at the Dynamic Parameter documentation? At the bottom of that page there is a link to Ryan Irelan’s article on EEInsider about how to use them effectively.
