    Hi,

One of my bloggers is having issues posting “timed” entries… They do not show up (or they show up later than the time set). I know it is a caching thing, but I can’t remember what setting affects timed entries?

Should I tweak the caching on the templates or is it the setting found on the weblog:entries tag?

    Thanks!

I just turned off this setting in the admin:

    “Cache Dynamic Section Queries?
This feature will improve the speed at which your section pages load by caching queries that are normally executed dynamically. Enable it only if you do not use the “future entries” or “expiring entries” feature.”

I am hoping that was the problem.

    Thanks,
    Micky

I also turned off all template caching and sql query caching… Still no love.

Seem like timed entries only show if I update the template HTML or clear cached data… Not sure what could be causing this to not work. There is no “refresh” parameter set on the weblog:entries tag. I must be missing something obvious here. 😊

    Any tips?

    Thanks!

    Hi Micky,

Can you give us an example of exactly what is happening? This user is posting entries with the entry date set to the future? Is only user affected by this issue?

    Cheers

    Greg

Hi Greg! Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

Like you said, the user is posting entries with future “start” dates, and it looks like other users/blogs are affected by this phenomenon.

This might be of some help: When I clear cache (using EE admin) the entry will appear.

I have turned off SQL caching via admin, and I think all of the associated templates have caching turned off too.

Here are some of my admin “caching” settings:

Clear all caches when new entries are posted? (YES)
    Cache Dynamic Section Queries? (NO)
    Enable SQL Query Caching (NO)

I must be missing something obvious here… Can you think of any other settings that would stop future entries from appearing?

Thanks so much for your assistance, I really appreciate it.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,
    Micky

    Micky,

What version and build of EE are you using?
Do you have any extensions installed?

What localization settings does the user have compared to the site’s localisation settings?

Are you using any Daylight Savings or anything like that

DOH! Sorry for the late reply! :(

    EE version = 1.6.8
I do have several ext’s installed:

    1. Multi Drop-down List (v.1.1.1)
    2. Comment Spam Prevention (v.1.1)
    3. Fresh Variables (v.1.1)
    4. Radio (v.1.0.2)
    5. Multi Text (v.110)
    6. Clone Entries (v.1.1)
    7. Checkbox (v.1.0.1)
    8. jQuery for the Control Panel (v.1.1.2)
    9. FieldFrame (v.1.4.3)
    10. File, by Mark Huot (v.3.1.1)

    Localization:

I just checked my user, and the time zone is -8:00, but DST is checked.

Server time zone is also -8:00, and DST is checked.

Hmm, I wonder if it has to do with DST?

Thanks so much for the help!

It very well might have to do with DST. You also might want to upgrade to EE 1.7.0, it’s a recommended security release.

Thanks Sue! I will play with DST settings (here in Oregon, we are experiencing DST now, but we did some tweaks to server so something could be off somewhere under-the-hood).

I will have our IS dept. upgrade asap.

I will be back with an update soon!

    Thanks a billion!

    Cheers,
    Micky
