Editing group name when templates saved as files

I save all my templates as files.

Am I correct in assuming that editing a template group name will only change that name internally in EE, and will not change the physical name of the folder on disk?

I will need to change the physical folder name on disk to match the change I make in EE - correct?

    Please advise, thanks.

I would think so, too. That said, what happens when you try it?

    Hi Ingmar

I don’t want to try it untested because it’s a live server.

I was hoping there would be some mention in the docs that you would know of (I tried looking but couldn’t see anything).

OK, I tried it on a local server.

What happens: If you change the name of the template group within the control panel, the resulting backend folder name doesn’t change.

But if you resave the file, EE creates a new folder with the new template name. The old one is still there.

    Does that help?

Thanks for adding that. Don’t hesitate to post again as needed.
