Any idea on how to retrieve first image from entry to use it as head picture for entry? Or just to get src of first image?

You’re going to have give more detail. Are u using extensions/modules to store images or vanilla EE fields ?
Why wouldnt you just put (assuming your image field is named “myimagefield”)
{exp:channel:entries limit="1"}
{myimagefield}

just imagine you have tekst formated in editor that is x words long and has x number of images not on fixed positions ... images are IN tekst.
