    Unfortunately, I can’t answer that question.  I didn’t here about the issue until I received a note from my client explaining that two specific people he was attempting to enter were throwing the error noted above.

    Hi, Paul. It appears the issue at least in the first case is with a duplicate password. Can you try to add the user with a different password?

    Have any hacks or changes been made to any of the EE coding?

    No hacks or changes to any of the EE code at all.

    Interesting. I’ve been able to add both users simply by adjusting their passwords.

    Is there a larger issue I need to be aware of concerning this problem?  Seems too simple.

    Paul,

    What I would suggest is upgrading to EE1.7 where if nothing else you will have a fresh set of files where you can be sure none are corrupt of a legacy of a previous version or release.
