When I open “forum themes” on coda :: there is no color on text… I switch to CSS and it says “there is not CSS on the page”...

Then, how do I get to see the text colored for EE’s “CSS” pages ?... or for EE’s Code Scheme in general…

    ——————————————
By the way, looking for a solution for this, I found “Jason Hudnutt’s EE Clips”... Hudnutt’s “EE Clips for Coda” on EE Forum - it helps adding code to EE pages.

I don’t use Coda, do I have no familiarity with it. Is it possibly due to the file extension?

Hi, I use Coda all the time, this is a file extension problem. the Forum template uses the file name forum_css.html so in Coda it’s treated as plain html not css.

You can change the file extension to .CSS and it becomes visible as a stylesheet (with colour code) in Coda but you will lose the actual link to the forum and get this message:

‘Unable to locate the following forum theme file: developer/forum_css/forum_css.html’

You can switch back to .html when you have made your changes and re-save the file or you could do a direct ‘link rel=“stylesheet etc..’

    hope this helps,

    Thanks Matthew.

Does that help? In my text editor regardless of what the file extension is I can pick whatever syntax I want to use. So for a .html file I can use CSS syntax. Maybe Coda has a feature like this.

I am going to move this thread to the General Discussion forum where more users of Coda might have some input for you.

There is an option in Coda to colour the css.html:

In Coda go to the Text menu then select Syntax Mode > CSS and underneath the syntax mode there is an option for ‘syntax highlighting’ this needs to be ‘checked’ also.

This updates the colours, my earlier suggestions are a bit long winded.

    Thanks Mathew,

text highlighting (in editor) functions after manually selecting it… and changing the file extension (to .css) gets everything in place, as expected… (remember to change it back to “.html” before saving it)...

this will help a lot… while I keep finding a more functional solution…

We’ve just created a brand new Coda mode for EE2 which might be of use. You can download it here: http://hellomountee.com/expressionengine-dev-toolkit/
