    Hi there,

I’ve just upgraded a site from EE 1.6.8 to 1.6.9, and noticed that when turning on template debugging, the Memory Usage has gone much higher.

For example, my home page used to use around 750,000 bytes, but after the upgrade to the latest build of 1.6.9, it’s now using 2,827,280 bytes. This is with all the caching options turned on too.

Any ideas on what the issue could be here, or is this just a fact that EE 1.6.9, that it uses more memory?

A blank template in this latest 1.6.9 build is taking up this much memory: 2,381,344 bytes (11 SQL queries)

Whilst a blank template on a site running 1.6.8 build 20090723 is using up this much: 642,736 bytes (11 SQL queries)

Just wondering if you had any ideas about this or whether I’ve just had a bad upgrade or something?

    Thanks.

    Hi Stephen,

The memory usage for your 1.6.9 site is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Unless the two sites you are talking about here are exactly the same and you’ve performed exactly the same actions on each you can’t compare them like this.

    Cheers

    Hi Greg,

It was definitely about 2 thirds lower before the upgrade, but I also upgraded other modules such as FieldFrame, FreeForm, etc, so I’d have to play about more to see if this was an issue with them or EE.

My main worry was that this size of memory usage sounded out of the ordinary, but if it doesn’t, then that’s fine and this can be closed.

    Thanks Greg.
