I’m planning to upgrade my 1.6.8 site to 2.1, and I thought there’d be some kind of upgrade guide, but I can’t find it. I see the upgrade instructions in the docs, but what I’m looking for is more, “Hey, here’s what’s different and here’s what to watch out for.” For instance, I happened to stumble upon the fact that the galleries have gone away in 2.X. I need something that tells me what else has gone away, what might need to be coded differently, etc. Is there such a document?

Also, is there a list of which extensions work with 2.X and which don’t? I realize I could go through one by one and check, but I suspect someone has done this work and I haven’t found it yet.

    Thanks,
    Nathan

The only real annoyance I’ve had in upgrading is nGen fields not converting to the new built in file fields.

Hi Nathan, Fortunately http://devot-ee.com/ lists most if not all of the extensions and shows if they work for 1.6x or 2x or both. I can’t answer the other part.

Thanks, Forrest. I’ll go through it and see what’s what on the extensions.

Anyone have any ideas on the first part - some kind of upgrade or conversion guide?

Thanks, Mike. That helps and I’ll be sure to use it when I upgrade.

The only real annoyance I’ve had in upgrading is nGen fields not converting to the new built in file fields.

I use that pretty heavily. What is needed to make the change? Do you just create the new file fields with the old nGen feild name?
