    hi everyone —

there are many project ideas I have for which I fantasize about combining the content-publishing power/flexibility of ExpressionEngine with the sheer awesomeness/simplicity/breath-of-fresh-airiness of the Vanilla Forums community building software (http://vanillaforums.org).

ExpressionEngine’s forum frankly seems way outdated/bloated/not very sexy or easily customizable-in-the-look-and-feely-sense. however, ExpressionEngine’s membership capabilities in general are of course ultra sweet.

do we know what the future holds for EE forums? what about prospects for tightly integrating a Vanilla installation into an EE site? probably not good since they’re built on different frameworks? alas.

then again I’m a front end person who knows ~zero about code.

    thoughts?
