    This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    I was also missing the HTML formatting buttons, but after turning on through the custom field options, I see the formatting bar appear in the Publish for, but it is just a solid color bar with no buttons. I think this is related to my CSS problems. Another symptom is that drop-down menus have transparent backgrounds. Another post I read about that said to try uploading all the EE files again. Could the formatting button problem be resolved by that also? If I upload all the files again, do I just follow the upgrade instructions again? Thanks.

    What version and build are you using? Yes, definitely try to re-upload a fresh set of files. The instructions to follow in this case would be the build update ones.

    I uploaded a new set of files to our hosting server after downloading a fresh copy of EE 2.1 Build 20100810. I followed the build update instructions as recommended, but no change. I have attached a screen shot of a new post in the CP (new_post.jpg), which shows the transparent background of a drop-down menu, and missing formatting buttons. One thing that does seem to be fixed is a problem with the time stamp of a post changing to 6 hours off after submitting the entry.

    Another problem is no way to change the order of categories. In the other attached screen shot (missing_order.jpg) you can see there is nothing showing in the Order column.

    Hi Brian,

    Please try editing your system/expressionengine/config/config.php file and add this:

    $config['theme_folder_url'] = "http://yourdomain.com/themes";

    Cheers

    That did it! Thanks a lot. Just needed help seeing the theme CSS code, right? Why was it not happening before? Difference in web server configurations?

    One other remaining problem. When editing a date/time stamp for a post, I can change “AM” to “PM” but can’t do the reverse. Won’t allow me to do replace with anything after highlighting the “P”.

    Hi Brian,

    This is a known issue. Please do add a comment to that report and you will then be notified as it is updated.

    Cheers

    Greg
