I’m being buried in registration spam ... many dozens each day, most of which are coming from the usual suspect countries. Is there a way to block registration from any but US IP addresses? I’ve got the banned countries thing going, but it doesn’t seem to work on the forum ...

    Hi jretzer,

There is no built-in way to filter registrations by country, but have you seen this blog post? It outlines the easiest and most effective methods to combat registration spam. Does that help?

I saw that and had already installed advanced captchas. If I change the forum trigger word, do I also have to change other settings or templates?

You shouldn’t have to, unless you have hardcoded the trigger word somewhere in your templates.
