I’ve been using EE to power my clients’ website as a CMS but there are way too many features in it that my clients will not touch. Such as ‘modules’, user management, system configurations and all other technical utilities. Basically my clients just need to edit, add and delete posts.

I’ve taken a look a mojomotor but it’s too basic, i need entries sorting feature.

Unless there are any ways to simplify the control panel? Hide tabs/ menus for specific users. Give them access to Entry management only. (or template or user admin - depending on website’s needs).

Hi, Jabbler - you can remove permissions to access certain areas by editing the member groups; removing access removes the visibility from the CP.  So yes, you can absolutely do as you’ve requested.  Are you on EE 2 or EE 1? I can guide you based on that.

    Hi, Jabbler -

Ok, first - head to Members > Member Groups and edit the group you want to restrict.  Just go through those options and familiarize yourself with them and take out what the client doesn’t need to see.

Yes, we do have a volume discount program.  Each software purchase you make on the same expressionengine.com account is logged so that as you meet milestones as indicated below you will automatically receive the discount. The discount plan is cumulative, allowing you to purchase what you need today and still receive a discount when you meet any of the milestones at a later date. Please note that the volume discount plan applies to only ExpressionEngine.

    Volume Discount Milestones:

    3+ copies   10% off
    10+ copies   15% off
    25+ copies   20% off
    50+ copies   25% off
    100+ copies   30% off

So regardless what version/ value of EE i have, for e.g, personal or freelance and commercial - it all counts as a full copy of EE? 2 freelance and 1 commercial would still count as 3 copies? And does expired copies of EE counts?

And thanks for the tip regarding the user permission.

Yes, Jabbler - those count; the download account status does not matter, it still counts towards the volume discount. =)

Thanks Lisa 😊 my boss will be glad to hear that. Hopefully we’ll be using EE for about anything.
