I really need a Photo Gallery Module I have no idea why EE 2 was launched without one… are there ANY third-party scripts out there?

A lot of people are using Matrix to do just that.

So now… instead of a photo gallery included in the upgraded price ($300 instead of $250)... we have to pay another $55 to get something that worked well enough before???
    Something wrong with this picture.

Don’t think I’ll be upgrading any sites until some sort of photo gallery get’s included.  What am I supposed to do with the galleries that are already integral to the sites I have??

    thanks

Yes, some very good questions.  Any answers?

Can one ask what is the migration path from EE1.0 based photo gallery to the 3rd-party module?

Me <———1,000’s of images in EE1.0 based photo galleries and still waiting to upgrade to 2.0 :long:

I’ve been complaining about this for a while. It’s a little murky that they remove the module, and suddenly a 3rd party dev comes out with a pay module that works well enough for some people.

It’s a real problem.  I’ve been waiting for many months for the EE2.0 ecosystem to “mature” so I can upgrade and move my clients and projects forward but now come to see that EE has been downgraded in capability and a key bit of functionality has been removed?

At this point, if I have to consider lots of work to upgrade I mine as well consider a wholesale shift in platform to something that respects and services image based content and clients.

It would be less of a problem if there was a clear module, paid or not, that we could commit to and the work had been done by the devs to create a migration path / utility?  But instead there are very vague and uncertain statements about what might or could happen.  Not good.
