All I get is my front page. Does anyone know what is wrong or has had a similar problem?

You need to Force Query Strings

I did that and it still isn’t working. Has anyone had a similar experience? This is a common host. It should work fine. Is it because the host is PHP5 only?

Oh man, I just found out its not compatible with their shared hosting :(. I will have to let this site sit for now.

Actually, I *AM* having the same problem as you, but I have a different host, AND EE worked perfectly at the same host, two years ago. So I don’t think it is actually a host issue, unless it IS the fact that it’s PHP5??
If that what is causing this, I can still select php4 but they will be making it defunct soon, and I can’t make it php4 on just my subdomain without it affecting the rest of my site (well, my husband’s stuff too).
This is a very disappointing discovery..

Darren - will your host let you revert your site to php4? If so, try that and it should start working. At my host it is under “PHP Confirguration” on the host’s cpanel.

Darren, which PHP5 version are you running?

What I meant was HostGator explicitly states ExpressionEngine does not work with their shared hosting plans. Anyways I got a VPS and it is doing the same thing. The site is here: http://www.ultragamer.com. Must have to run on PHP4. I wish I could get my money back as coming from a ZCE PHP5 has been the standard for a long time and it is ridiculous it will not work on PHP5.

I posted in another thread that I was having the same problem with 1.6.9 (then I found this thread). I already had 2.0 so I just upgraded it after I found it was PHP related. However, in my other thread, one of the moderators referred me to this FAQ thread:

I plan on installing my old copy of 1.6.9 on my home server and was going to try this out to see if that suggestion resolves the issue we were both seeing. Maybe it will work if you try it?

Darren, which build/version of EE1.x are you running? You can find that out at the bottom of any control panel page.
