Hi everyone.

A client of ours wanted to move his “Photography Travelogue” (photo blog about travel) out of a Wordpress CMS due to some recent security issues, and while we worked on EE1.6xx in the past, it wasn’t too extensive, and we haven’t had the chance to work on or study EE2xx, so we were hoping we could ask a few questions?

1) Wordpress has a feature which allows you to “attach” a gallery to a specific entry. Is this possible on EE2xx? The critical factor here is letting the client upload images into a specific custom field on the same page he is entering his entry text, and having those images display in the “attached” gallery page.

2) Does EE2xx provide link “tags” for entries? EE1.6xx required a commercial plugin.

3) Wordpress 3xx introduced taxonomies, which our client has used extensively on his blog. In fact, it’s used in a very similar fashion as the demo shown here: Custom Taxonomies

Is this now possible on EE2xx? I believe we’re correct in saying that this wasn’t possible in EE1.6xx because they behave a lot like link tags, which wasn’t a default feature then.

I believe what you’re looking for is a combination of EE2 with two specific addons: Matrix and Tag Module.

1. Matrix would allow your client to upload images individually and grouped in to an entry which could be shown on it’s “own page” gallery. You can find info about matrix here

2.and 3. The “tagging” feature you’re looking for is extendable through Solspace’s Tag Module. I haven’t worked with taxonomies (yet) specifically, but I believe the tag module should meet a similar need.
