Thanks a lot for the good word on MojoBlog! I deliberately didn’t include categories or tags in 1.0 because I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. I am looking at how to best implement them in upcoming versions.

Feel free to contact me if you’ve got any more questions.

    MojoBlog 1.1 is out!

This release brings a whole plethora of new features to MojoBlog:

          - Added Outfielder support
          - Added Pagination
          - Added an {author} tag
          - entry_id, no_posts_404 and entry_id_segment parameters (single entry pages)
          - Fixed a language file bug
          - Fixed a bug with apostrophes
          - Fixed MojoMotor save button error
          - Added a title=”” parameter

It’s still $15, so head over to the Sparkplugs site and grab a copy now!

Jamie, does MojoBlog have separate pages (URLs) for each post, or is it all contained in one page (e.g. /page/blog)?

Feature request: excerpt field and ability to show a list of excerpts with link to read more (maybe related to first question?)

Thanks - seriously considering this for a new client

As of 1.1, yes, MojoBlog does have single entry pages, as you can see above. There’s no except field yet, but I’ll add that next feature release.

Instead of an excerpt field, why not just have have an option in the tag to only get the first paragraph or the first x number of words/characters?

Well, that was my plan 😊 have an {excerpt} variable that pulls the first x number of characters from the body.

Great minds think alike, Horrigan. 😉

Ah, ok.  I thought you were talking about a separate form field.  😊

Jamie, the {excerpt} variable you describe will work in a pinch, but I was thinking more along the lines of a separate description field like MM pages have.  The beginning of a post isn’t always an accurate description of what the post is about.  Ideally, {excerpt} would check for a description field and if it isn’t found, then pull the first paragraph or x number of characters.

In any case, you’ve sold me - thanks for the great add-on!

I’ll definitely consider it 😊 MojoBlog is still highly under development, and it will mature and grow as MojoMotor does. I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks a lot, and do let me know if you’ve got any more questions.

I just installed MojoBlog, as in the tutorial, but…nothing happens…not entry_form nothing…even the source code of the pages is empty at the position where the blog-Tags are.

    Hi Folks,

I’m having a few problems with this module with the WYSYWIG editor.

I’m getting an error 404 error when using the upload form. Any help?

    Hi Luke,

Apologies that you’re having issues with MojoBlog. Could you please post a support request in our support forums, I don’t want to handle support in this thread, and I don’t think EllisLab do either!

    Thanks,

    Jamie
