Could someone help please I am trying to remove the membership registration option in the login template of the forum but I cant get it to go I have removed the h ref from all the login templates but the option still shows up. i have also cleared the cache. The login page is here

    http://www.digitalwatchlibrary.com/forums/member/login/

Im removing it as I have so many spammers joining the forum and nothing I try is dettering them I thought id try a more personal approach where the user contacts me for membership details with a couple of lines on why they want to join the forum.

    Any help gratefully received

Adam, on the latest build of EE 1.6.9, that link is located on line 791 of /themes/profile_themes/default/profile_theme.php

Note that bots are well aware of the default locations of registration forms in various systems. Just removing that link won’t necessarily deter any spammers.

Thanks Brandon, but what else can I do I am getting about 20 subscriptions a day from spammers. Can I remove the standard form or rename it? what does everyone else do. Should I just let them in?

    regards

Perhaps renaming the “member” trigger word would be an option?
