Curtis,
Is there a reason why a Global Region won’t work for you here?

Curtis,
Is there a reason why a Global Region won’t work for you here?

@Jesse
Yes:
Global Regions are per layout, not per site. Page Regions are per page.
I need it to show in two layouts (think layouts without using ShowMe).

So what you’re trying to do is a layout that you will be able to use on every single page… but it also needs to be editable. Is that right?

Yes.

Alright, getting the layout to show up should be easy enough. Editing the layout is what’s going wrong then, right?

Yes. I have it set to where i can go to /page/sidebar and edit it there, but it’s not very intuitive and may be confusing for my client.

Hi,
I installed your plugin, ShowMe, but after placing a simple tag, {mojo:show:layout name="x_header"} , in my layout, I am receiving an error which is preventing me from seeing the site or getting back to the admin. Here are the steps I took:
1. Uploaded “show/show.php” into the third_party folder with “system/mojomotor”
2. Created my header layout, entitled “x_header”
3. Added {mojo:show:layout name="x_header"} to my main_layout - this is when the break happened.
The error message reads:
An Error Was Encountered
Unable to load the requested class: show
Any thoughts?

@iamnick - you need to upload the whole “show” folder into system/mojomotor/third-party

@aaron, I uploaded the “show” directory into system/mojomotor/third-party, then placed the “show.php” file in this same folder. Is there something else I’m missing?

If you download the addon and unzip it you will end up with a “show” folder. Upload that entire folder into system/mojomotor/third-party. That’s all you need to do - don’t move around show.php.

That was it, thanks Aaron. I was missing the “libraries” folder.

Editable regions inside of Showme.
Is this already available and I’m just missing something or is this a piece of functionality that is being planned on added. Either way, I cannot currently edit and save on refresh any editable regions that are in an embed.

Same thing here.
I have a header and a footer layout. Each has global regions. The header and footer layouts are combined for the main layout which is applied to pages. When editing pages, the global regions are visible, but they are empty and don’t save to the database. Even after manually editing the global regions assigned to those layouts, they are still empty.
Is this expected?

No, it isn’t. I haven’t gotten around to looking into the problem and finding out what’s wrong, but I’m fairly sure this is because of MojoMotor’s separation of editable areas based on the layout.
